Computing curriculum map
In September 2014, ICT was replaced by a new subject, computing. The National Curriculum for computing aims to ensure that all pupils:
The new curriculum has been designed to meet and challenge children so that we see a progression in computing skills across the whole curriculum.
Some examples of how we do this include using flip cameras to record and replay a debate in literacy or creating a graph with Microsoft Excel in science and mathematics lessons.
At Kingsgate Primary School we also use Google Apps, Discovery Espresso and Purplemash to teach children the vital skills of web design, blogging, programming and e-safety. Children can also showcase their work, comment in forums, take part in votes and safely email each other.
We are a digitally rich school which provides the children with all the experiences and computing skills they need to prepare them for 21st century lifestyles.
