This half term, Y4 Oak had a visit from a scientist! Eva came from The Francis Crick Institute to help us with our work on sound. After discussing how sound travels, we considered how it is that we hear. Working as a class, we investigated how sound travels and whether you can hear better with 2 ears or 1. Adam kindly volunteered to be the tester and Ellie helped to record the results.
After this, we considered the vibrations that are made when 2 objects meet, and how this produces a sound. Using a coat hanger and string, we listened to the objects and learn more about how sound moves to where we can hear.
